There’s a brand new snack been launched in the UK and it’s called Toddler Mum-Mum.

Now, let me start by saying this: While feeding my child is a very important part of our day to day life, I’ll admit that I sometimes get distracted, or because I don’t tend to get hungry during the day I forget, and I’m just not the mother that takes a packed lunch for every outing. I have a friend that does. She arrives at my house, takes off her shoes, opens up her 8 month old’s lunch box and sits feeding her fruit and snacks for the duration of their visit. I’m not a mother like that. I don’t know if I’ve ever packed a lunch box. And I probably should. I just haven’t yet. I’m working on it.

Want-Want Toddler Mum-Mum Organic Strawberry Flavour Rice Biscuits (Pack of 4 Boxes, 4 x 40 g, 64 Biscuits)And over the last few weeks when I’ve been thoroughly preoccupied by having a newborn, I’ve noticed my lack of attention to this detail quite acutely – a starving two year old is not that different to a starving newborn: she’s just a whole lot more vocal about it!

Anyway, so the people behind Toddler Mum-Mum sent us a big box of their Strawberry flavoured snack to try and it’s been a god-send: I just have a bag in my handbag, and a box in the car, and there are always snacks on hand.

Toddler Mum-Mum are baked Japonica rice cookies and are a sweet and tasty snack made from organic rice, organic sugar, sea salt, natural strawberry flavouring, citric acid (which is vitamin C used as a preservative in foods), Gelatin and Thiamin (which is vitamin B1).  These biscuits are Gluten, Egg and Peanut free, and they are low in fat. They also have no artificial colours or flavours.

They are currently only available in Strawberry flavour, which isn’t a problem as they are actually very tasty.

For £7.12 on Amazon, you buy a box of 4 boxes, each with 8 individually wrapped packets of biscuits and each packet contains two biscuits, so you’re getting 64 biscuits in a box.  This makes each snack pack just over 22p, or 11p per biscuit.

Another massive bonus to these is that they make no crumbs, unless of course you tried to crush them!

While Toddler Mum-Mum’s aren’t exactly healthy snacks, they’re not as unhealthy as many others you’ll find for children, and they’re incredibly handy to have on hand as a snack or a stop gap for when, like me, you just don’t have a bag of bananas or bowl pre-chopped and washed strawberries on hand.

These snacks are suited to the over 18month crowd, but there are also Baby Mum-Mums(which we’ve not tried) for the 6 month+ age.  Currently, Mum-Mum products are only available from Amazon for purchase in the UK.

Please consider nominating us for best pregnancy blog, best baby blog, or best ‘family life’ blog in the MADS awards. You have to nominate someone as blogger of the year first – feel free to nominate us there too!
