BabyBeads Breastfeeding Necklace And Bracelet Giveaway

I remember when I started breastfeeding Ameli. I found it impossible to remember which breast I had fed her from last, especially at night. It really worried me too, because the midwife and antenatal classes kept saying how important it was to alternate, how important it was make sure the baby was getting both foremilk and hind milk, and how supply and demand meant you had to make sure there was enough demand at regular intervals. I found it all rather frightening.

A breastfeeding bracelet came to my aid, and until around 6 or 7 weeks, when milk changes from a reservoir supply to a supply and demand system, I used a bracelet to remind me where to start.  Then, eventually, you can soon tell which breast needs to be emptied, and the bracelet can go – or at least for me, went – into a memory box.

Another thing no one really warns you about when you’re breastfeeding, and especially when you’re breastfeeding an older baby, is the scratching, pulling and nipple twisting that goes on. Here again, I found a necklace made for purpose to be really helpful. It just distracts Ameli long enough to keep her going without mutilating me.

Which is where Babybeads comes in. Run by mum Jo, Babybeads produces lovely necklaces and bracelets specifically for breastfeeding. If you look at the testimonials on the site, you’ll see that many mums agree that giving baby something to distract their busy hands not only improves mum’s experience of breastfeeding, but also keeps babies feeding more peacefully.

So, BabyBeads have kindly offered one reader the chance to win a necklace and bracelet (valued at £16), and all you have to do is go to the respective pages (necklaces and bracelets) and choose your favourite styles. Leave their names in a comment on this page, and that’s that.

This competition runs until noon on July 8th and the winner will be randomly selected using Random.org

For an additional entry, you can also ‘like’ BabyBeads on Facebook, and leave a comment below to say you have. Jo doesn’t send out many newsletters but if you’d like to be kept up to date with the latest info from BabyBeads, you can sign up for their newsletter (and if you let me know here that you did, you can have an extra entry for that too.)

And the winners are: Alex and Olga N. Congratulations & thanks to everyone who entered!
