Melba Maternity Review And Competition (UK Only)

Melba Maternity is, as the name suggests, a maternity range of clothing to make mums-to-be and new mums feel beautiful, sensual and feminine, at a time when style is often foregone for comfort.

They stock what you would expect them to: night wear, breastfeeding tops, lingerie sets, knitwear and trousers, and also offer bundles including a hospital set which consists of a camisole, trousers and nightwear.

If you expect to be returning many times over the years, or will be buying a lot for your pregnancy, Melba London also offer a loyalty scheme where you can earn points and delivery is free for purchases over £100.

So, what are the clothes like?

Well, they are certainly luxurious. I tested a camisole and roll-top trousers and they’re really gorgeous.  They are incredibly soft and almost flow-y in texture and feel. Unfortunately, like most luxury brands their clothes only go to a UK size 16, which at my sickest with Hyperemesis Gravidarum was my size, but as the sickness lifted, and my size return to normal – and more – they quickly became a bit snug for me. While I did wear them though, I found them incredibly comfortable.

The camisole has a lace detail on the front and the wide shoulder straps are lace too, and it definitely leaves you feeling very feminine and beautiful. Just to back up that feeling – apologies for the pun – there’s a ‘woman’ symbol in diamante detail in the back. It’s all very pretty.

The main thing with the clothing I tested is that it does feel very luxurious, and it does leave you feeling very feminine, which at a time when you’re dealing with a plethora of other things taking over your body, is most welcome.
