My little girl is turning one in just seven weeks. Aside from the fact that I cannot believe a year has passed since her beautiful birth, I can’t believe that here I am, planning a party for her.
I know that many people don’t make a big fuss for a first birthday, but it is important to me, since she didn’t have a christening, and since we’re actually moving the day after her party and heaven only knows when we’ll see all her/our friends again. And also because our friends have been our family over the past few years.
In my search for ways to have a fantastic but totally budget-friendly party, I’ve spent hours scouring the web for decorations and ideas. You can imagine, then, how happy I was when the PR for Yabba Yabba got in touch to offer me one of the company’s lovely animal prints: perfect for a zoo party!
Yabba Yabba also has its own club you can join. If you do sign up, you’ll receive discount coupons emailed to you for the YabbaYabba online checkout, the company’s bi-monthly newsletter, club product promotions only available to YabbaYabba club members and the first peek at new designs.
I selected the monkey print myself, and I think it will fit in our zoo themed party really well. The print is is fun and bright and nicely presented. It is also very well packaged to make sure it arrives safely without damage.
Yabba Yabba offers a great service which I think is quite unique – you can request the images in a colour scheme of your choice, and can also have your child’s name added to the picture.
The only negative, really, is the Yabba Yabba logo, which is larger and more prominent than I think is necessary, but in the end that’s a relatively small issue. The pictures aren’t cheap, but Yabba Yabba currently has a 15% discount offer for online orders, which makes a big difference.
In the meantime, Yabba Yabba has kindly offered one Diary of a First Child reader the chance to win a monkey print just like the one we have for our zoo party. In order to win, just head over to the Yabba Yabba website then tell me which of their other pictures you love by leaving a comment here.
The competition runs until noon GMT on August 30 and the winner will be drawn using Random.org
Please leave an email address/blog address/twitter name where I can contact the winner. If I am unable to make contact within one week I will select a new winner and the previously selected winner will have no recourse to the prize.
Prizes are sent out by sponsors directly. Please get in touch if you do not receive your prize within four weeks of the closing date.
And the winner is:
Jamie Harrison!
A big thank you to everyone who entered and to Yabba Yabba for sponsoring the giveaway. Remember that there’s currently still 15% discount available on all pictures, and another chance to win if you register on the Yabba Yabba website!
