The days around here are cold and wet at the moment. Our holiday was cancelled, and our roof is leaking rain water. There is much to be frustrated about and down about, and yet days are filled with moments of beauty. And it’s in those moments that we make our memories.
I do take photos every day, but unless you want to see the same child in different clothes doing about the same thing every day, some leniency with timeframe is required! All these photos were taken within the correct week, if not on the exact days.
Day 42 – Ceiling Lights
These make a full circle in the interior of a London restaurant, and change colour. It’s so pretty.
Patterns on walls
Day 44 – Twinings Tea Shop
I saw this as I was walking along in the West End area, and thought it was quite a nice way of advertising.
Day 45 – Valentines Treasures
I didn’t have much money this year for Valentines gifts, so decided to go low-key and hand made. I took an old jam jar and cleaned it out. I decorated it with glitter gells and made a slot in the lid (for coins, later) and filled it with love heart, heart shaped chocolates and jelly beans. Then I took 25 black strips of card and wrote love notes on each, “I love how you…”, “I love that you…”, “I love your…” and so on so that he could read the notes as he emptied out the jar. (Thanks to Simple Mom’s great article on making Valentines day more meaningful for the initial idea)
What I particularly love about this shot, and why I chose it even though it wasn’t the best one of the jar, is the backdrop of one of our photo walls, memories of our life together.
Day 46 – Going Nowhere
I initially wanted to call this ‘Take a Long Walk Off a Short Pier’, which is one of my favourite ways of saying ‘get lost’. But I’m a nice person, so I don’t say it very often 🙂 Decided ‘Going Nowhere’ was perhaps more apt – more moody.
Day 47 – Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day)
There’s little nicer on a rainy day than pancakes with sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. And this was a particularly rainy day in a particularly rainy week.
Day 48 – Asleep in Daddy’s Arms
This one is actually from a few weeks ago, but I felt it deserved to be featured. It’s precious. And there should be at least one picture of a baby in my week!
Thank you for joining me for our week in pictures, part of the Mommytography 365 Project
I really like the short pier shot 🙂

Neat lights. I often take visitors to Twinings as it is such a neat shop 🙂 Recognize those patterns on the wall and can’t remember where – it’s gonna bug me so please elucidate. The short pier walk made me laugh and yep the baby is precious 🙂 Neat idea for the valentines jar and like it with the photos behind. Who doesn’t like pancakes?
@Missus Wookie, Never seen the Twinings before, but would love to revisit! The wall… Its a theatre on the South Bank, but can honestly not say which one. Driving me nuts too though!
Great photos! I love them all, especially the last one. There are few things sweeter than a daddy and his little girl. 🙂
I’d love for you stop by my blog and link this up as your Wordless Wednesday post! Just remember to bring cookies! lol

@Kristi {at} Live and Love…Out Loud, I agree! I fall in love with my husband over and over when he’s dealing with/ bathing / singing to our little girl. It’s just so beautiful. Thanks for stopping by!
