I’ve been meaning to write a review for ACHICA for ages now, but I’ve been so busy with all this summer stuff that it completely slipped my mind.

I’m sure you’ve seen the ads on TV? For Achica? No, well, ACHICA is a members-only luxury lifestyle store, where members can indulge in an array of private sales, each open for just a few days.  ACHICA offers gorgeous, designer, 100% genuine brands at really good prices. It’s a little bit like Groupon, Zulily and so on, but for lifestyle goodies – the most gorgeous of which are their kitchen things, in my opinion!

There are new promotions every day of the week, and Saturday and the occasional Sunday or evening sale too. The ‘virtual doors’ open at 6.30 am every day, and while they say ‘when it’s gone, it’s gone for good’, I’ve noticed some of the same things going on sale two or three times – but that’s no reason not to grab what you want when you see it, because things do sell out and there’s no guarantee it’ll be back.
We had £100 to spend at ACHICA and went a bit wild – we bought a gas picnic bbq, a new bread knife, a pull along toy for Aviya for Christmas (my baby will be nine months! *sob*) and a Noah’s Ark wooden toy set for Ameli for Christmas. I also bought a little something for me – a pepper grinder! Ha. I’m only half joking, but I’ve always wanted a proper pepper grinder, so I was super excited. According to ACHICA’s ordering page I saved over £200 on my £100 order – we all know the RRP’s on things are highly inflated, and few people ever pay the actual RRP on things (I hope!) but it was still nice to make a saving.
If you really want something, it’s useful to check around and make sure it is the best price as you would do for most shopping (again, I hope!) but what ACHICA stocks is all quality and gorgeous.
The only downsides are that your items take a really long time to arrive, over four weeks in some cases. If you’re not in a hurry, then it’s definitely worth it, with up to 70% off, but do bare it in mind.
The only other thing I don’t like about ACHICA is their friend referal system. While you can get your friends to sign up, and they say you’ll receive £10 for every friend that buys from ACHICA, what they don’t say up front is that your £10 can only be used for a certain period of time, that you can only apply one voucher per order, and most importantly, that it has to be part of a minimum £20 spend – so refer 10 friends who buy products, and you have to spend a minimum of £100 in 10 transactions, and pay shipping for each one in order to benefit. I don’t really see that as a massive reward system.
But if you have or want a gorgeous house, wardrobe, nursery, kitchen and garden, filled with beautiful products, and you have money to burn on these luxuries, you’ll love ACHICA. I know I drool over the kitchen section daily!
