As we sit in quarantine, one of the things that are keeping me going is planning for the future. I realised today that this week is two years since I was last in London! London and the surrounding areas are perfect for a family trip because there is so much to see and do in this region. If you’re planning a trip you will really want to make the most of your time in the capital and surrounding areas so here is a future bucket list for a trip to London next year.

Guided Tour

The truth is that there are so many cultural and historic attractions throughout London that it is impossible to see them all on one trip. This is why a guided bus charter is such a good idea because you can see all of the major highlights and learn about them while also getting a better sense of the layout of the city. Then you can always return to the ones that you’re most excited about seeing more of!

Harry Potter: Warner Brothers Studio Tour

A fantastic family day out, the Harry Potter Studio tour allows you to immerse yourself in the magical world of Harry Potter which is an experience people of all ages enjoy. You get to walk through all the iconic sets and enjoy a range of experiences as well as get an idea of how these much-loved films were made. We went the week they opened, and I’ve been threatening to go back for ages!

Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is a breathtaking sight to behold and an attraction that both kids and adults can enjoy so this should certainly be on your list for a trip to the capital. If you are in London in August or September then you can even tour the inside which is an incredible experience.

Madame Tussaud’s

Madame Tussaud’s is a historic institution and the London branch is one of the best in the world with interactive areas and a wide range of incredible wax statues (many of which younger kids will enjoy).

London Parks

If it is a nice day then it can be a lovely experience to relax in one of London’s many beautiful parks. It can be a nice change of pace to escape the busy city streets and to relax in green areas whether you are playing games, reading a book or enjoying a picnic. There are many to choose from in and around London and most can be easy to access by train, such as with a train travelling from East Croydon to Gatwick airport.

These are all activities that should be on your future bucket list for a family trip to London in the next year. There is so much to see and do it can be hard to know how to spend your time but you will certainly want to check out all of the above.
