It’s been a pretty quiet week Down Under. It seems I only took my camera out four days of the week, even, but fortunately had a few more snaps on my phone. I can’t wait till I get my new phone in about six weeks – definitely going for something with a better camera!

Day 45/365 – Out for a Walk

This bit of the river is a two minute walk from our house, making it perfect for prevention of spontaneous combustion. Ameli loves coming out to feed the ducks.

Day 46/365 – Old Friends

Tanya and I studied together in South Africa 15 years ago. She now lives in Perth, with her husband and five children and we had such a lovely time visiting them. Ameli just fell in love with their 2-year old, and the twin babies are gorgeous.

Day 47/365 – Mama, Take A Picture Of Me

Every now and then, I’m not sure why, although I think it’s an attention thing, Ameli will call out to me to take a picture of her doing whatever she’s doing. This was once such an occasion.

Day 48/365 – Meringues

You’ll have to wait another week before I publish this recipe, but it’s the only picture I have from this day. Or of course you could Google it 😉

Day 49/365 – The Warehouse Cafe, Subiaco

I found this lovely little cafe in Subiaco – 221 Onslow Rd, Shenton Park 6008, to be precise – the other day. It’s just a cafe, in front, but at the back they have a room where they do – I’m not sure really, but stuff with disabled people. They have disable volunteers in the cafe, and do ‘community work’ with them. On a Friday the room is available for community projects, like cooking classes and so on.

There’s also a children’s corner where Ameli and Aviya sit drawing and playing with little toys.

Oh, and their iced coffee is only $4.50. Bonus.

Day 50/365 – Fair Blankets

It’s Aviya’s first birthday soon – can you believe it? – and I’m planning fairy stuff. I didn’t do much today, but thought these cinnamon and sugar puff pastries could be good fairy blankets. Right?

Day 51/365 – Exercise Routine

My poor brother has received a good preview of what life with children is like. They wake him early, make lots of noise, and then, when he’s trying to exercise, they either try talk him through it, copy him, or ride on him. Welcome to my life.

Thanks for joining us for our week in pictures!

Without further ado, here are the Mamatography 2013 participants!

Mamatography Week 8: A Lot Of Not Much

  1. Isaiah always has to workout with me. I even got him his own little plastic “dumbbells” so he can do it if he wants.

Oh, and the meringue looks so good! I can’t wait for the recipe.
