While competitions aren’t normally my thing, I do tend to have a strange compulsion to help people, so when I received three emails in one week asking me to enter or help promote a few competitions, I thought I’d extend the invitations to the crafty, the talented, and the happy snappers among you.

***I’m not associated or aligned with these companies, but they are all offering some lovely prizes, so fingers crossed and good luck to you***

Artful Adventures – The Crafty Competition

This competition is being hosted by Artful Adventures to get the little ones creative. To enter, bloggers are invited to download the PDF file and get their children to complete it using whatever media they like (glitter, fabric, watercolour, etc) – the more creative the better!

Upload the image on a blog post with a link to the competition page and a link to the Fly Thomas Cook blog post then pop a comment on the Artful Adventure’s competition page to say that you’ve entered.

All entries must be received by midnight on the 6th March 2011. The winning entry will be chosen and revealed by the owners of Artful Adventures.

The Prize:

• Wooden easel (choice of colour pink or blue)
• Mister Maker bumper craft box
• Play Dog Magic Ice Cream Playset
• Rainbow Aquadraw

Amateur Storyteller – The Talented One

TalkTalk has done some research which has found that 48% of UK parents don’t read bedtime stories to their kids and 57% of parents think that this practice is in danger of dying out.

In response to this TalkTalk has launched TalkTalk Tales, a competition, backed by storyteller Bernard Cribbins, to find the nation’s best amateur narrator. The competition is open to anyone over twelve years of age and the overall winner, as chosen by Bernard Cribbins, will receive a cash prize of £2,000 and there are also Kindles to be won.

To make it fair, there are five story excerpts you can choose from. You then record and upload yourself reading the story or you can enter by phone.

Have a listen to some of the current entries – it’s quite fascinating hearing the different interpretations.

Sudocrem – The Happy Snappy One

To celebrate the launch of Sudocrem’s shiny new website www.sudocrem.co.uk and informative social media channels, we’re offering a 12 month Merlin Family Pass worth almost £400 to the winning mum or dad who shares with us their child’s (under 3) funniest photograph with the story behind it. Please note submissions must not relate in any way to the use of Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream.

HOW TO ENTER:

It’s simple – just visit www.facebook.com/sudocrem, ‘like’ the page and share your child’s funniest photograph with the story behind it.

COMPETITION RULES:

Content should relate to children aged 3 and under only. Please note, submissions must not relate or refer in any way to the use of Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream or any other licensed medicine. Photographs and supporting text are both acceptable. The acceptance, disqualification or deletion of competition entries, without explanation or prior notification is entirely at the discretion of Forest Labs, as set out in the Terms and Conditions found on Entries can be submitted up until midnight on Wednesday 16th March 2011.
