I saw a picture of mitten Christmas tree ornaments and thought it would be a really sweet way of tracking growth in the early years, but also a personalised gift tag that can be kept by adding the child’s name and age so we set about making just that: personalised mitten gift tags.
To make your mitten gift tags, you will need:
- A sheet of paper big enough to hold two hand prints
- Pipe cleaners
- String
- Marker Pen
- Bostik White Glu
- Scissors
Fold the paper in half and trace the outline of the hand – as a mitten shape, so without going through all the individual fingers.
Cut out the hand prints, and glue them together.
Use the pipe cleaners to make a nice furry collar for the wrist of the mitten. Use a hole punch to make a hole at the bottom of the thumb and thread a length of rope long enough that you’ll be able to attach it to the gift then too.
I think it would be really sweet, for family and so on, to add the child’s name and age to it too. It’s the kind of thing I could see a grandparent being happy to receive.
As BostikBloggers we receive a free box of craft goodies once a month to create themed crafts.
